October has been a full and vibrant month here at Access Trails UK, the kind where every path seems to come with golden leaves, muddy wheels, and fresh stories of connection. It’s been amazing to see how many people are embracing accessible adventures, proving again that the outdoors truly belongs to everyone.
This month’s posts have been all about the little things that make a big difference: the gear that helps you move more freely, the smiles that make trails more welcoming, and the thoughtful stops that remind us to rest and recharge.
We kicked things off with People’s Attitudes followed by, exploring how kindness, patience, and awareness matter just as much as physical access. Then moved on to Gear That Gives You Options, celebrating a clever adaptive kit that opens up trails for everyone because sometimes a portable ramp or an adjustable pole can be the key to new adventures.
There were also some wonderful location highlights, including Cardinham Woods in Cornwall, a calm, leafy escape with beautifully maintained accessible paths. If you haven’t rolled or strolled there yet, it’s well worth adding to your list!
We loved your enthusiasm for Rest Stops as Radical Hospitality, where we talked about benches, viewpoints, and the power of a simple pause. And thank you to everyone who shared their suggestions in Got a Favourite Flat Path? Spill the Beans! Your recommendations are helping us build an incredible archive of accessible routes across the UK. We are looking forward to more of your suggestions.
From wet-weather tips in Rolling Through the Rain to portable planning tools and inclusive gear research, October’s posts reminded us that accessibility is a shared effort. It’s about trails, yes, but also about people, design, and attitude.
As we look ahead to November, we’re excited to bring you more stories from places like Lanhydrock, Hidden Access, Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary, and Siblyback Lake. Each one offers something new, proof that inclusion, exploration, and joy can go hand in hand.
As always, thank you for walking, rolling, and sharing this journey with us. Your stories and support are what make Access Trails UK such a warm, welcoming community. Here’s to more adventures ahead!
