Accessible Walks in the UK: Fully accessible National Trust sites in the UK

The National Trust is home to some of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes, estates, and historic buildings, and while not every site is fully accessible, many now offer excellent step-free routes, mobility support, and inclusive facilities.

This guide highlights some of the most reliably accessible national trust places across the UK, so you can plan visits with more confidence.

Highly accessible national trust sites

Wimpole estate (Cambridgeshire)
A large, well-maintained estate with a smooth multi-use trail suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Mobility scooters are also available on site.

Tyntesfield (Somerset)
Offers a clearly marked step-free route around the estate grounds with accessible paths, seating areas, and views across the parkland.

Blickling estate (Norfolk)
Features hard-surface trails through woodland and parkland with accessible routes around key landmarks.

Llanerchaeron (Ceredigion, Wales)
A compact estate with relatively flat, accessible paths and easier navigation around the grounds compared to many historic sites.

Why this matters

The National Trust is actively improving access across its sites, but experiences still vary widely depending on location, terrain, and historic building constraints.

Knowing where the most reliably accessible sites are makes it easier to enjoy these spaces without uncertainty and helps support better inclusion across all heritage locations.

We’ll continue expanding this guide with more fully and partially accessible national trust sites across the UK.
